Saraswati is the hindu goddess of knowledge, wisdom, learning, music and fine arts. She is seen carrying a “Veena” which is a musical instrument. This is a symbolic meaning which means to tune oneself into their own world of self actualization, knowledge and devotion. Saraswati’s mythical mount is the swan for what the bird signifies. Swans are very disciplined and follow a strict routine. Just like the swan can live on the land, live on the water as well as fly on the sky, learning and knowledge can come from anywhere. A swan is a sophisticated bird and is rarely seen dirty. They are almost always busy cleaning themselves and cleaning the environment where they live.
