Kubera, the god of wealth and guardian of the northern direction in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Seated regally on a lotus pedestal, Kubera is portrayed with a plump, benevolent face and opulent attire, exuding prosperity and divine abundance. He holds a money bag or pot of jewels in one hand and a fruit—often a symbol of fulfilled desires—in the other.
