Shiva is Nirankar, which means He is formless. Shiva is never born and he has no end. He is eternal. He is the fourth state of consciousness, known as the 'Turiya avasta' (the meditative state), that is beyond the waking, sleeping and dreaming state.
Shiva is the para-Brahma, the lightless light, the all powerful supreme God of infinite universes across space and time. He is beyond comprehension , beyond imagination- the Limitless that cannot be grasped by the limited human mind.
Shiva is Ananth (everywhere ) and Sanatana ( eternal ). Shiva existed even before anything was there , and will remain even after everything will cease to exist.
Shiva is Swayambhu ( He created himself ), so no none can destroy Him.
This universe is Ananta vistara (of infinite expanse). The consciousness pervading this infinite universe is also infinite and is Agneya (not knowable).
