This exquisite bronze sculpture recreation captures Vamana, the fifth avatar of Vishnu, in a rare and dynamic pose—dancing atop the outstretched hands of King Mahabali, with one leg raised high, the dhoti’s folds elegantly sweeping upward. This is the climactic moment in the Vamana legend, when the humbled Mahabali offers his head for the final step. Instead, Vamana, embodying divine grace, chooses to step on his hands, honoring the king’s repentance.
Vamana is depicted with eight arms—three of which hold a chakra, shankha, and knife—while the rest express balance and movement, emphasizing his cosmic role as both humble Brahmachari and vast Trivikrama.
